Freehold To Host Annual Declaration of Independence Reading

The reading will take place on the morning of July 4, 2024.

FREEHOLD, NJ — Though many look for nighttime activities to attend on the Fourth of July, Freehold Borough will offer a unique Independence Day experience with their annual reading of the Declaration of Independence.

The declaration is a founding document of the United States. Originally published on July 4, 1776, the document established America’s separation from Great Britain, earning the holiday’s title of Independence Day.

For residents of Freehold, this reading has become a tradition and has been going on for over a decade.
