Luciano Martins Of Freehold Is Already A Natural For TV Career

FREEHOLD, NJ — Luciano Martins is just seven years old, but he's already gained a lot of experience as a model and TV commercial actor, his mom says.

And he appears to be a natural for performing and the arts.

His mom Kristin said she and her husband Joseph were always interested in acting and the arts so they gravitated toward the industry. The Martins family, including a younger sister age 6, lives in Freehold.

With their personal connections and with an agent, Luciano has been able to develop a career since age one.

He finds audition opportunities and usually makes an audition video at home, Kristin Martins said. The family has a ring light and screen so it's a professional audition video for prospective jobs.

"When we get callbacks, that is the most exciting," said Kristin.

And a very exciting callback came recently for a Dunkin' Donuts Rewards commercial. In fact it came on Luciano's seventh birthday: "Lucky 7," his mom says.

The commercial spot is called "Autograph."

It's just 15 seconds, but Luciano leads it off, approaching none other than Eli Manning, Giants Hall of Fame player. You can see the commercial at iSpot.tv here.

"It's his first SAG-eligible (Screen Actors Guild) commercial for a top brand," Kristin Martins said.

Luciano has been modeling since he was a year old, and his mom said he seems to gravitate to performing. He likes the arts - but also video games, she said. Right now, he also wants to learn piano and she said he hopes to have his own show on YouTube.

He seems pretty savvy for a young fellow.

"He's not shy," his mother says.

And his cool is evident in the commercial. He perfectly enunciates the first line, "Eli Manning, can I get your autograph?"

Then he comes up with a great none-too-pleased expression when he takes a sip of coffee from Manning.

"Wait, you don't drink coffee. . . . What was I thinking?" Manning says as the commercial fades out.
