MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — Towns throughout New Jersey are set to honor active military members, veterans, and their families with parades, ceremonies and events this weekend, including those planned in Monmouth County.
For those who are looking for local Memorial Day events to attend this weekend, Patch has compiled a list of some of the events planned throughout the area.

Freehold’s 151st Memorial Day Parade
Elected officials, residents, veterans, visitors and more will gather at Elks Point on Monday, May 26, to honor those who died in service to the nation as Freehold begins its annual commemoration of Memorial Day.
The Service of Reflection will open the 151st Memorial Day Parade at 8:30 a.m., followed by the parade starting at 9:45 a.m. at Brinckerhoff Avenue and West Main Street.

Hazlet Memorial Day Service
Hazlet Township will host a ceremony of respect and remembrance on Monday, May 26, at the Memorial Garden next to the James J. Cullen Center.
The service is organized by the Hazlet VFW Post 4303 and will be followed by light refreshments. Seating will be limited and the event will begin at 10 a.m., rain or shine.

American Legion Post 434 Memorial Day Parade
On Monday, May 26, Manalapan Township will honor those who died in service to the nation with the American Legion Post 434’s Memorial Day Parade.
A brief ceremony will take place in the Veterans Walk of Honor outside of Town Hall at 1:45 p.m. Immediately after the ceremony at 2 p.m., attendees will begin to march in the American Legion Post 434 Memorial Day Parade.
The route of the parade will begin outside Town Hall at the corner of Freehold Road and Taylors Mill Road before proceeding to the Englishtown Veterans Monument at 15 Main Street.

Marlboro Memorial Day Wreath Laying Ceremony
On Monday, May 26, Marlboro Township and the Veterans & Volunteers Committee will honor and remember those who died in service to the nation with a wreath-laying ceremony.
The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial at Town Hall, with light refreshments following the ceremony.

Colts Neck Memorial Day Parade
On Monday, May 26, Colts Neck will commemorate Memorial Day with its annual Memorial Day Parade Ceremony at Memorial Park and a picnic at Fire House #2.
The parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Town Hall, pause with a ceremony at Memorial Park, and conclude at Fire House #2. The line of march will include military, local community groups, youth organizations and more.

Red Bank Memorial Day Ceremony
On Monday, May 26, Red Bank will honor military heroes with its annual Memorial Day Ceremony.
The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at the Red Bank Veterans Monument, and residents are invited to have wreaths delivered ahead of the ceremony directly to the Red Bank Veterans Monument. In case of rain, the ceremony will be held at Red Bank Elks Lodge.

Shrewsbury Borough Annual Memorial Day Observance
Shrewsbury Borough will host their annual Memorial Day Observance on Monday, May 26 at 11 a.m.
Attendees are invited to join the mayor and borough council at the event, which will be followed by light refreshments (sponsored by first responders) at Manson Park.

Fair Haven River Rats Sailing Open House
For those looking to learn more about sailing with the Fair Haven River Rats Sailing programs, you can check out their Memorial Day Open House on Monday.
From 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., the public is invited to join the organization for the open house and spend an afternoon by the water. River Rats members will be in attendance to talk about their sailing and membership programs.

Active Military, Veterans Discount At Rumson Restaurant
From Friday, May 23 through Sunday, May 25, the Red Horse by David Burke in Rumson will be offering 25% off food and beverages to active military, veterans and their guests.
The discount applies to all food and beverages purchased during operating hours and can be redeemed by presenting current military ID, veterans ID or veterans designation on a drivers’ license. Reservations are recommended.
