July 29 was the deadline for candidates to submit their petitions to run for school board. Take a look at who's running:

FREEHOLD, NJ — The 2024 general election will likely be a high-turnout year with a presidential race on the ballot. But there will also be local decisions to be made on Nov. 5 in the Freehold Board of Education race.

July 29 was the deadline for all candidates to submit their petitions to run for school board this November.

Below is a list of candidates, and a campaign slogan if they submitted one. All information comes from the Monmouth County Clerk's Office, and these positions are three-year terms unless stated otherwise.

Positions on school boards in towns in New Jersey are unpaid; board members help determine how educational resources and taxes are allocated and spent, and work with educators and administrators to plan the future of the district.
