NJ Actor Accused In Road Rage Shooting To Stay Jailed, Authorities Say
Ernest W. Heinz, who shot a woman in the face and then fled, forcing Stockton University into a lockdown, will stay in jail.
GALLOWAY, NJ — The Port Republic actor facing attempted murder charges for a road rage shooting in Galloway earlier this month will remain detained until his trial, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.
Ernest W. Heinz, 46, was charged with criminal attempt homicide, aggravated assault with a firearm, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose after shooting a Galloway woman in the face from his car in a road rage incident, police previously said.
The Sept. 11 shooting near Stockton University sent the school into a shelter-in-place for several hours as authorities hunted for the suspect.

The 42-year-old victim and bystanders reported that an unknown man had pulled his vehicle alongside the victim's vehicle and shot her in the face before fleeing the scene, authorities said.
