Atlantic County COVID-19 Vaccine Update: Locations, Eligibility

ATLANTIC COUNTY, NJ — New Jersey has been expanding the number of publicly listed COVID-19 vaccination sites, and the state continues to announce new locations.

The state's list includes some locations that accept appointments directly; others are operating through the New Jersey Vaccine Scheduling System (see the Atlantic County list of vaccine sites below).

CVS and Rite Aid began scheduling COVID-19 appointments at locations that will receive vaccines, but appointments fill up quickly.

Health Commissioner Judith Persichilli said the state plans to increase the number of vaccination sites beyond 300.

Gov. Phil Murphy announced that New Jersey has created a county-by-county vaccine hub that reports the number of immunizations across the state (see our guide to the vaccination system below).

The state recently added another tool in the box to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic with a beta version of an Appointment Finder, which is live and ready to use, according to Murphy. Read more: New Jersey Launches COVID-19 Vaccine Appointment Finder

"This new tool aggregates information across multiple scheduling platforms, multiple times an hour letting you know when appointments are open and letting you know how you can make one for yourself," Murphy said.

State officials have said the goal is to vaccinate 70 percent of the adult population by the spring. That mission was aided this week by another eligibility expansion, with people 16 and older able to get vaccinated as of Monday.

Atlantic County logged a total of 276,769 vaccinations, with 122,276 people fully vaccinated as of Friday.
