Atlantic County Man Caught With $55K In Drugs: Police

Atlantic City detectives recovered cocaine, heroin, meth and about two pounds of marijuana during a motor vehicle stop Wednesday.

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — City detectives recovered cocaine, heroin, meth and about two pounds of marijuana from a vehicle on Wednesday, authorities said.

Detectives conducted a motor vehicle stop just before 11 a.m. in the 1700 block of Arctic Avenue after seeing the driver engage in a drug transaction, Atlantic City police said.

Maseter Laurent, 28, of Pleasantville was arrested after detectives recovered 660 grams of cocaine, 2,500 bags of heroin, 120 grams of methamphetamine and almost two pounds of marijuana from the vehicle, police said. The estimated total seizure was worth about $55,000.

Laurent was charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession with intent to distribute CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public zone and possession with intent to distribute CDS within 1,000 feet of a school zone.

He was being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
