Braves Pride: 5 Unforgettable Athletes From Absegami High School
From local fields to national fame, these stars got their start in Galloway.

Sports run deep in Galloway, and Absegami High School has long been at the heart of it. It’s no surprise some standout talent once wore the Braves uniform. Today we're celebrating five unforgettable athletes from Absegami High School who made a name for themselves well beyond the hometown field.
1. Abdullah Anderson – NFL Defensive End (Titans)
Anderson is an Absegami graduate who played college football at Bucknell University. He entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2018 and has been on several NFL rosters, currently the Tennessee Titans. (Source: 97.3 ESPN)
2. Ford Palmer – Record-Holding Middle-Distance Runner (Monmouth)
Palmer was a multi-sport athlete during his time at Absegami High School, excelling in both football and track. He continued his running career at Monmouth University, during which he notably ran a 4‑minute mile. (Source: Monmouth Hawks)

3. Erica Skroski – NWSL Defender (Sky Blue FC)
Skroski was a standout women’s soccer player at Absegami, earning All‑South Jersey honors and eventually going on to play at Rutgers University. Before her retirement, she played professionally with the National Women’s Soccer League, with a memorable stint with Sky Blue FC (currently Gotham FC). (Source: South Jersey Glory Days)
4. Nick Bridge – Wrestling State Champion (Cornell University)
A 2004 graduate of Absegami High School, Bridge won a state wrestling title at 125 pounds and helped the Braves maintain a perfect 90-0 dual meet record during his career. At Cornell University, he wrestled at 125, 133 and 141 pounds, placing in multiple tournaments and earning dual meet victories over Ivy League opponents like Harvard. (Source: Cornell)

5. Tabitha D’umo – Emmy-Nominated Choreographer (So You Think You Can Dance)
Known as one half of the choreographer duo “Napoleon and Tabitha” or “NappyTabs,” D’umo (nee Cortopassi) cheered at Absegami High School before launching a dance career that’s included work with Jennifer Lopez and Madonna, along with and multiple Emmy nominations. (Source: IMDB)
