South Jersey Football Star Signs With Green Bay Packers

Bo Melton, a Cedar Creek football star, will now be playing for the Green Bay Packers.

MAYS LANDING, NJ — A Mays Landing native and Cedar Creek High School football star has signed with the Green Bay Packers.

Bo Melton, also a Rutgers alum who most recently was on the Seattle Seahawks' practice squad, has signed with the Packers' active roster, the team announced.

During his time at Cedar Creek, Melton led the team to a 10-2 record and an appearance in the NJSIAA South Jersey, Group 2 final as a senior, according to 97.3 ESPN South Jersey.

He caught 51 receptions for 766 yards and nine touchdowns, the radio station said. Melton also rushed for 451 yards and seven touchdowns.

Melton was originally selected by the Seahawks in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Rutgers. According to the Packers, he finished his college career ranked No. 3 in program history with 56 games played, No. 6 with 164 receptions, tied for No. 8 with five 100-yard receiving games and No. 10 with 2,011 receiving yards.

He will wear No. 80 with the Packers.
