EGG HARBOR TWP, NJ — What's better than enjoying the warm weather with a delicious Wawa coffee? "Wawa Day" is April 13, and the beloved chain is giving away a hot cup of coffee Wednesday to customers for free — any size, any flavor — at its New Jersey locations.

Wawa expects to give two million cups of fresh-brewed coffee to customers at its nearly 1,000 stores in NJ and around the East Coast. The gas station and convenience store chain is celebrating its 59th anniversary in retail and also celebrating the connection between Wawa and the communities it serves.

And that's not all. Wawa is hosting a special event at its 6678 Black Horse Pike store in Egg Harbor to honor "day brightening" customers, associates, communities and charitable partners.

And, all Wawa stores will select a "Day Brightening" customer who is "near and dear" to the store team. These special customers will get a sash, Wawa mug, and week's worth of free coffee.

"Every year, Wawa Day gives us a chance to honor our heritage and the journey that has taken us from a single convenience store in 1964 to close to 1,000 stores with countless customers connections 59 years later," said Chris Gheysens, Wawa's CEO. "This year, we are excited to honor the special role our associates play in our customers' lives by capturing these incredible stories and making them a focal point of our Wawa Day festivities. We can't wait to learn about new and touching examples of the way our associates brighten our customers' lives and continue to help us grow and fulfill more lives in every community we serve."
