Galloway Cops: Toys For Tots Stolen From Municipal Building

All of the toys stolen from a U.S. Marine Corps donation bin have been recovered, police said

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, NJ - Galloway police have charged two Pleasantville women and a man still at large with stealing every single toy from the U.S. Marine Corps donation bin in Town Hall.

The three suspects entered the municipal building lobby at 10:47 a.m. on Dec. 14 and took the toys from the bin in the lobby, Detective Sgt. Kevin Welsh said.

"Prior to the theft, the donation bin was overflowing with toys, due to the generosity of others in the community," he said. "The suspects stole every single toy that was in and around the bin. The approximate value of the toys was in excess of $300."

The goal of Toys for Tots are to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign, Welsh said.
