Here's Why Galloway Library Will Be Closed All Summer

The library isn't expected to reopen until fall.

GALLOWAY, NJ β€” The Galloway branch of the Atlantic County Library System will be closed temporarily starting June 16 for the installation of a new $2.5 million HVAC system, the county announced in a news release.

The branch isn't expected to reopen until the fall. However, the book drop box in the front of the building will remain open to return any borrowed items.

During the closure, patrons are encouraged to visit any of the library system’s other nine branches. Visit www.atlanticlibrary.org for locations and hours or call (609) 625-2776, ext. 6304. Patrons may also access digital media services and databases 24/7 on the website.

Also beginning June 16, the elevator at the Mays Landing branch, located at 40 Farragut Ave. is scheduled to be replaced. Patrons will be without its use for approximately six weeks. Only stairway access to the community meeting room and adult collections on the second floor will be available during this time.

β€œOur libraries are key components of our communities,” said County Executive Dennis Levinson. β€œThis is the fourth such project to improve the environment for our patrons and help us achieve greater energy and cost savings.”
