This Jersey Shore Boardwalk Is Among Best In The Country, Report Says
A travel website ranked this boardwalk in the top 10 in America.
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — New Jersey is home to miles of boardwalks, from those packed with amusements in Seaside Heights to more laid-back ones like Spring Lake. But one Jersey Shore boardwalk is ranked in the top 10 nationally - and it's also the country's first boardwalk.
Travel site Fodor's placed the Atlantic City Boardwalk at number seven of the top 10 boardwalks in the United States.
The 5-mile boardwalk, both the country's first and its longest, was built in 1870.

This world-famous boardwalk is home to casinos, of course, but also shops, food and the iconic Steel Pier.

"All summer long, its 5-mile boardwalk thrums with casinos, concerts, dining, mini-golf, tram rides, and that timeless stretch of beachside fun," Fodor's wrote.
In cooler months, you can still stroll the boardwalk and enjoy its attractions. Another benefit of Atlantic City is that its beaches are free, so at any time you can step onto the sand.
"Come Labor Day weekend, visitors pour in for one last taste of summer along its storied shores," Fodor's wrote.
