Large Fire Destroys Main Building At South Jersey Country Club

HAMMONTON, NJ — A massive fire destroyed the main clubhouse at Frog Rock Golf and Country Club in Hammonton early Tuesday morning, authorities said.

Firefighters were dispatched to the club at 2:39 a.m. for a reported explosion and fire, according to the Hammonton Fire Department.

Heavy fire was seen throughout the building, spreading to nearby greens and wooded areas, the fire department said.

The clubhouse served as a banquet hall, wedding venue and restaurant.

Hammonton firefighters and numerous mutual aid partners got the blaze under control.

No injuries were reported.
