Owners Of Longtime Somers Point Jewelry Store Honored At Retirement

SOMERS POINT, NJ — After 57 years serving the Delaware Valley, Harvey and Madalyn, “Maddy”, Rovinsky, owners of Bernie Robbins Jewelers, are ready for retirement. The community, including officials like Congressman Jeff Van Drew, took to the company's headquarters to honor the couple.

The Rovinskys were surprised at a retirement/thank you party on Dec. 27 in Somers Point, according to a news release.

Van Drew presented the couple with proclamations, while Somers Point City Council President Janice Johnston, Councilman Joseph McCarrie and Councilman Charlie Haberkorn presented them with Certificates of Appreciation. Victoria Mozitis, Miss New Jersey, of Northfield, and Ashley Greco, Miss New Jersey Teen, both made an appearance.

In honor of their retirement, the Rovinskys are holding a sale with up to 70 percent discounts at their Somers Point and Villanova, PA stores.

The family-run business, which opened in Philadelphia in 1962, is being turned over to their key management, debt-free with the goal of passing their legacy on to a group of Bernie Robbins employees who have the entrepreneurial spirit to continue the family culture of Bernie Robbins Jewelers.
