Police alerted residents on Friday to a rise in car sale scams in Egg Harbor Township and nearby towns.
EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ — Police alerted residents on Friday to a rise in car sale scams in Egg Harbor Township and nearby towns.
“In each case, a vehicle is listed for sale in an online forum such as Facebook Market Place at a remarkably low price,” Egg Harbor Township police announced on social media. “The vehicle is then sold to the unsuspecting victim, who thinks they are getting the deal of a lifetime.”
The victim then takes the vehicle home with only one set of keys, police said.
