2 Sought In Shooting Near Stockton University: Galloway Police
One person was injured in the shooting, police said. Stockton University students are being ordered to shelter in place Thursday afternoon.
GALLOWAY, NJ — Two suspects are being sought after one person was injured in a shooting Thursday afternoon in Galloway, officials said.
Shortly after the shooting, Stockton University was ordered to shelter-in-place. The school said the order was due to police investigation. That shelter-in-place was lifted at 4:03 p.m., though a police presence remains on campus.
Galloway police said that a shooting is under investigation on W. Jimmie Leeds Road near Redwood Avenue, an intersection across from the school's entrance. It happened at about 12:52 p.m. The injured person was hospitalized, police said.

The suspect is believed to have fled in a vehicle, police said. Stockton University said police are searching for two people in a white Honda CRV SUV connected to an off-campus shooting.
The suspect passenger is a white male with a green shirt and long blond hair, university officials said. The vehicle entered Vera King Farris Drive at Jimmie Leeds Road, traveling north through campus and has not been located.

"If outside, seek shelter indoors," Stockton's alert issued at 1:19 p.m. reads. "Remain inside for your safety. Do not exit until Public Safety issues all-clear."
All classes and activities have been canceled for the rest of the day.
"Please avoid the area as a crime scene investigation is currently underway," police said.
