South Jersey High School Principal Facing Child Porn Charges

MAYS LANDING - The principal of Pleasantville High School has been charged with multiple counts of possession and distribution of child pornography, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner said.

Edward Bonek, 48, was arrested on Thursday morning after authorities executed a search warrant at his Absecon home, the prosecutor said.

Bonek was charged with possession of child pornography, distribution of child pornography, possession with intent to distribute child pornography, maintaing a file sharing program making child pornography available for distribution and official misconduct, Tyner said.

Although the Prosecutor's Office did not identify Bonet's position on its Facebook page, other media outlets, including breakingac.com have.

Bonek is lodged at the Atlantic County Justice Facility, waiting for a detention hearing.
