South Jersey High School Student Dies After Car Collision

Angelica Volcy was crossing Route 130 near the Crosswicks Road intersection on foot when the accident occurred, police said.

BORDENTOWN TOWNSHIP, NJ - An 18-year-old high school student has died after she was struck by vehicle on Route 130 South by the Crosswicks Road intersection on Monday night, according to the police department's Facebook page.

Angelica Volcy, Ward Avenue, suffered severe, life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at Helene Fuld Medical Center at 11:03 pm., police said.

Preliminary investigation concluded that Whitney Tigner, 35, Penn Boulevard, Woodbury,the driver of the 2007 Infiniti G35, was traveling southbound on Route 130 when the accident occurred at 10:15 p.m.

Volcy was crossing the highway at the Crosswicks Road when she was struck. Witnesses told police that Tigner was proceeding through a green signal and had the right of way, police said.

Volcy was a student at Bordentown Regional High School. School officials have brought in counselors for grieving students, police said.
