Super-Fans Line Up Days Ahead Of Spirit Halloween Grand Reopening
Even though the flagship store doesn't open for the season until July 30, fans were lining up outside on Thursday morning.
EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ — Halloween fans can be pretty intense. They're also literally in tents - some super-fans are already lining up outside of the flagship Spirit Halloween store ahead of its season grand reopening on July 30.
The Halloween season kicks off this Saturday when the Egg Harbor Township store opens, but some people are apparently looking to start it even earlier. Local radio station 94.5 PST said that they saw fans there as early as 3 a.m. Thursday.
Photos from Spirit Halloween showed fans lining up in tents and even a camper to get first dibs to the fun grand opening event the massive Halloween retailer has planned. Why so early? The first 200 guests will get a swag bag prior to the store's opening.

Join the ghosts and ghouls on July 30 at Spirit Halloween's Harbor Square Plaza location, 6725 Black Horse Pike, for day of fun and spooky events. Admission is free and open to the public.
The killer plot twist for this year's event is the exclusive premiere of the trailer for "Spirit Halloween: The Movie." The trailer will debut live at the event with special appearances by cast members Donovan Colan, Dylan Martin Frankel and Jaiden J. Smith.

"The official opening of Spirit Halloween stores is always special, but there is an extra buzz in the air this year with the news of our first-ever feature length film," said Steven Silverstein, CEO of Spirit Halloween. "We are thrilled to keep the momentum and welcome super fans from around the country to be among the first to shop the 2022 collection, and help us officially launch the Halloween season earlier than ever."
The schedule of events is as follows:
- 9:00 a.m. – Pre-opening activities including tarot card readers, food and beverage vendors, games and family-friendly activities.
- 9:15 a.m. – The official trailer premiere of Spirit Halloween: The Movie will begin to debut every 15 minutes.
- 10:55 a.m. – A ribbon cutting to kick off the Halloween season.
- 11:00 a.m. – Doors open; animatronics activate and the Spirit Halloween season officially commences.
