Police announced Wednesday that a person was charged over the weekend in connection with a threat at a school in Hamilton Township.

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — Police announced Wednesday that a person was charged over the weekend in connection with a threat at a school in Hamilton Township.

After an investigation was conducted, police determined that the threat was not credible.

The individual was charged with terroristic threats and causing false public alarm following an investigation, Hamilton Township police said Wednesday.

Authorities did not identify the individual or provide additional details about the threat.

“The Township of Hamilton Police take matters like this very seriously and we will investigate them thoroughly. Anyone responsible for such threats will be charged accordingly,” police said in a statement.
