This fall, Collingswood chefs get to the Root of it All during Collingswood Restaurant Week, Oct. 10-15 in Downtown Collingswood. Restaurants will offer farm-focused menus packed with exquisite flavor in original dishes that showcase the very best of New Jersey farms. Cherry Hill Township partners with the police and fire departments to present their largest community event, the Harvest Festival, from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. The events feature pony rides, a petting zoo, craft fair, pumpkins, live music, food trucks, a beer garden from Forgotten Boardwalk Brewery and so much more. Haddon Township will hold its fifth annual Music Festival from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday on Haddon Avenue between Strawbridge Avenue and Cooper Street, in the heart of the downtown. Located in Camden County —approximately 15 minutes from Philadelphia—the Haddon Township Music Festival is a perfect getaway for music aficionados who prefer to ‘experience” live music and interact with artists from all over the Delaware Valley. The 2021 lineup features a diverse range of acts, spanning many different musical genres on two separate stages. The avenue will be lined with food trucks, local artisans, beer gardens, a kid-zone and a 70” foot ferris wheel. The event is free and open to the public and approximately four blocks from the Westmont PATCO Speedline. The Historical Society of Haddonfield presents the Haunted Haddonfield Walking Tours during October. Tours will be held on Oct. 15, 16, 22, 23, 29 and 30, with a rain date planned for Oct. 31. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and under. Proceeds benefit the Historical Society of Haddonfield. This year, all tickets must be purchased online in advance. Each tour will be limited to 40 participants, and no tickets will be sold on-site to allow us to strictly limit our group sizes. The Eventbrite ticketing system will only offer tickets that are still available; if your first-choice date is sold out, try another date. In addition, all ticket-holders ages 2-and-up will be required to wear a face covering to participate, and we social distancing between household groups is encouraged. Participants will be able to hear well thanks to the tour’s audio tour system. Ticket-holders will meet in front of Greenfield Hall, 343 Kings Highway East in Haddonfield. The Peter Mott House Underground Railroad Museum’s historic signs will be dedicated on Saturday during the Lawnside Historical Society’s 31st anniversary celebration, noon to 2:30 p.m. The society is located at 26 Kings Court in Lawnside. In addition to the dedication, there will be music, oral histories, young scholars and historical figures as they honor their founders and dedicate their historic market and sign. The Haddonfield Food Tour takes place from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday in Downtown Haddonfield. On this food tour journey, sample tasty dishes of Haddonfield as you walk through the beautiful colonial streets of downtown and learn about its history. You’ll enjoy international food, starting with Thailand, Great Britain and then off to the Mediterranean. We’ll work our way towards tasty Thai cuisine and then head a few doors down for authentic British comfort food. A hand-made assortment of Greek cuisine will also be available to tickle the palate. We’ll make sure you stop by the Haddonfield Farmer’s Market starting Saturdays, mid-May to mid-October. When the Farmer’s Market is closed, you’ll stop in for chocolatey treats and walk away with a small gift from Duffy’s Fine Chocolates. End the tour with sweet treats at Sweet T’s Bakery. The Indian King Tavern Museum in Haddonfield presents Washington Irving and the Legend of Sleepy Hollow from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Neill Hartley, of American Historical Theatre portrays Washington Irving, the father of the American short story, bringing you into Irving’s world, introducing you to his work, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, the most famous short story ever written. The literary lion narrates his tale and then enters his story, becoming his alter ego, Ichabod Crane. The orchestra will also perform John Williams Summon The Hero’s and Dvorak’s symphony No. 9 from the New World.
