DUI Checkpoint Coming To Highway In Camden Co.

The checkpoint is designed to deter intoxicated drivers from getting behind the wheel in the first place, police said.

CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ — A DUI checkpoint will be instituted later this week on the White Horse Pike.

Stratford and Somerdale police are conducting the checkpoint from 9 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday on the highway, near Colby Avenue.

Drivers in both directions will be impacted.

"The primary purpose of the checkpoint is to deter intoxicated drivers from getting behind the wheel in the first place," the police departments said in an advisory.

Anyone found under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs will be arrested, and their vehicle could be impounded, police said.
