Giving Tuesday Fair: Join Camden County College To Help Local Families

Camden County College students are collecting items for local organizations at Giving Tuesday events in Camden and Gloucester Township.

CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ — It's the season of thanksgiving, and also giving back. Camden County College has two "Giving Tuesday" opportunities at the Camden and Blackwood campuses coming up later this November.

Student organizations are collecting a variety of items for local charitable causes, including the college food pantry. Other groups include BookSmiles, Ronald McDonald House, and veterans' services.

On November 22, the Camden Campus is collecting for the College's food pantry. Non-perishables, personal hygiene items, and first aid items are needed.

The "Giving Tuesday Fair" is Nov. 29 at the Blackwood campus's Connector Atrium, from 10:30-1 p.m. At this event, more than a dozen student groups will all be gathering toys, clothing, books, pet supplies, used eyeglasses, and more to distribute Here's what each group is collecting:

  • CCC Pantry: Non-perishable foods & personal hygiene items
  • Adopt-a-Family: New toys & new clothing ages 0 -18
  • Biology & Environmental Science Club: Bar soap and crochet “soap sacks”
  • Chemistry Club: Gently used toys
  • Dental Assisting Club: Socks, hats, gloves
  • Dental Hygiene Club: School supplies
  • E-Sports: Undergarments and personal hygiene items
  • (Veterans, Home of the Brave)
  • Faculty Assembly: New or gently used children’s books
  • (BookSmiles)
  • Honors Program: School supplies (CCC Pantry)
  • Library: Knit and crochet caps (cancer patients /homeless)
  • Nursing Club: First aid supplies (CCC Pantry)
  • Lion’s Club / Ophthalmic: Used eyeglasses
  • Softball team: Soda can pull tabs (Ronald McDonald House)
  • Veterinary Tech and Asst Club: Pet supplies
  • Women Empowered: Feminine hygiene products
  • World Languages: Children’s books in Spanish (BookSmiles)

Donations can also be made to benefit the arts at Camden County College during the Dancing for Dollars challenge, which is also taking place on the 29th.
