On 3/6/2022, at approximately 9:00 PM, Gloucester Township Police patrol officers, detectives, and plainclothes officers from The Gloucester Township Police Department’s Operations Response Unit (ORU) were conducting surveillance stakeout operations due to a series of burglaries occurring late night at the PSE&G Facility 400 Landing Rd. Gloucester Township NJ. Tools and large spools of cooper wire ($1000) were being stolen from work vehicles stored in a secured yard.

A white vehicle was observed at approximately 9:08 PM, identified as a possible suspect vehicle from previous incidents. Two males were observed forcing entry to the outside of the property and fled on foot into a wooded area after police contact.
Police attempted to stop the vehicle which was parked on a dead end street near the PSE&G business. The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed nearly striking a police unit head on and continued down the Old Black Horse Pike towards the Black Horse Pike where officers lost sight of the vehicle. The Gloucester Township Police Bloodhound K-9 and New Jersey State Police Aviate Bureau responded to assist.

A nearby Gloucester Township Police officer located a suspicious male, later identified as Thomas Duane Coady from Philadelphia, running down Lower Landing Rd. near the Rt. 42 overpass nearby to the PSE&G facility. Mr. Coady was charged with Burglary (3rd degree), Theft (3rd degree), and Criminal Mischief (DP). Mr. Coady was also a fugitive out of the Philadelphia Police Department for Burglary/Theft. Coady was remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility in accordance with the New Jersey Bail Reform Act.
