Highland Girls Soccer Falls in Group 3 Playoffs to Central Regional

The lost caps a historic season for the Gloucester Township High School.

A magnificent run for the Highland Regional High School girls soccer team came to an end Thursday with a 5-1 upset at home to No. 5 Central Regional in a South Jersey Group 3 quarterfinal match, according to nj.com.

The Tartans were the No. 1 team in the group playoffs.

Amanda Carolan notched a hat trick with three goals to pace Central Regional. Erin Looby scored the only goal for Highland, with an assist from Renae Moken. Highland's goalkeeper Kari Vanderslice registered seven saves.

It was a historic run for the Tartans, who won their first ever Diamond Division title this year on the way to the Group 3 playoffs.
