House Fire In Gloucester Twp. Displaces Residents
The fire emerged from the attached garage.
GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A garage fire damaged a house and displaced the residents Thursday evening in Gloucester Township, officials said.
The fire emerged just before 6:45 p.m. on the 900 block of San Jose Drive in the Glendora neighborhood. First responders saw smoke and fire coming from a house's attached garage.
All residents had safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported during the incident, police said.

Several fire departments helped control the blaze, preventing it from spreading to the house's living area. But the residents were displaced because of smoke damage inside the home.
The Gloucester Township Police Department and Camden County Fire Marshal are investigating what caused the fire.

Gloucester Township police reminded the public to be prepared for fires.
"This is a reminder to check your fire alert and suppression systems to ensure that they are operational," the department said. "Smoke alarms are a key part of any fire escape plan. When there is smoke, there is fire which can spread quickly. Working smoke alarms give you early warning, so you can get outside quickly."
