Juneteenth Festival In Gloucester Twp. To Feature Live Music, Food, Celebration Of Freedom
The celebration is this weekend at Veterans Park.
GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Gloucester Township will hold its annual Juneteenth festival this weekend with a day of live music, food, and celebrations of freedom and community pride.
The Juneteenth Celebration runs from 1-4 p.m. Saturday at Veterans Park (1261 Chews Landing Rd.).
Live music will include Budesa Brothers (taking stage at 1 p.m.), Al Reid Jr. (2 p.m.) and Kawoni (3 p.m.).

Local food vendors and crafters will be on-hand. Fury Tales Animal Rescue will also bring adoptable dogs.

Juneteenth is celebrated annually on June 19 and commemorates the nation's end of chattel slavery. On that date in 1865, Union troops made their final stop to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation in the South after the Civil War.
