‘Large’ Gloucester Twp Brush Fire Reported Saturday

Gloucester Township-area firefighters battled a reported "large" brush fire in the Erial section of town Saturday night, officials said.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ - Gloucester Township-area firefighters battled a reported “large” brush fire in the Erial section of the township Saturday night, authorities said.

Photos from the Lambs Terrace Fire Company posted to Facebook at around 6:40 p.m. showed thick smoke covering the ground in a wooded area.

The state forestry service also responded to the scene. As of Monday morning, Camden County is in a “low” current fire danger category, per the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.

It was not immediately clear where in the township the blaze began, or if any surrounding residences or businesses were impacted.
