Man Slams Cop, Fights Several Others: Police

The LaCascata resident is charged with injuring a police officer and multiple counts of assaulting police officers.

Police believe a LaCascata man who allegedly picked up and slammed an officer into a table and later assaulted several other officers Sunday night was under the influence of a narcotic during the incident.

Ibrahim Dao, 28, contacted 911 at 7:58 p.m. Sunday to request help, according to police.

Responding officers were met by Dao, who was standing on a staircase in his home, sweating profusely, yelling incoherently, according to Gloucester Township Police Capt. Anthony Minosse. Police characterized Dao as upset and disoriented.

Dao "was believed to be under the influence of a narcotic in an altered state of mind when he displayed abnormal strength as he picked up one officer into the air and slammed him into a table," Minosse said in a press release.

A police officer used pepper spray at that time, but the substance had no effect on Dao, who reportedly continued fighting officers and resisting arrest. Even after officers were able to place handcuffs on Dao, the LaCascata man continued to attempt to assault the officers with his feet and shoulders.

Dao was treated at an area hospital before being transported to the police station, where he was charged with aggravated assault on an officer resulting in injury, three counts of aggravated assault on an officer, resisting arrest and obstruction of justice. Dao was lodged in Camden County Jail on $35,000 cash bail.

Several officers were treated for minor injuries and decontaminated from the pepper spray and bodily fluids exposure from the accused during the incident. One officer was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated for a hand injury, Minosse said.
