Massive New Supermarket Coming Soon To Gloucester Twp., Owners Say
The ShopRite store replacing the shuttered Kmart is expected to open soon.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A ShopRite supermarket planned for Gloucester Township's former Kmart building is coming soon, according to ownership.
The store, which will be significantly larger than the typical ShopRite, has been under construction at Cherrywood Plaza. It will encompass more than 75,000 square feet, replacing ShopRite of Laurel Hill, which is down the road.
An opening date for ShopRite of Cherrywood Plaza has not been released. But this past weekend, store ownership announced it's coming soon, sticking with projections to open in the calendar year.

Zallie Family Markets, which owns several ShopRite stores in South Jersey, says the future supermarket will feature "a massive, modern shopping experience."
Amenities will include a hot food bar, an international cheese department, and a wok and sushi station. The store will also accomodate grocery pickups and deliveries.

The location is now hiring.
ShopRite will occupy the 98,914-square-foot building that once housed Kmart, which shuttered the location in 2017. Store renderings are available here.
Last year, Gloucester Township officials approved plans to bring the supermarket and a pad site for unspecified restaurant or retail use to the plaza.
Cherrywood Plaza is located at 1468 Blackwood-Clementon Rd.
