Medical Marijuana Dispensary In Gloucester Twp. To Be Discussed

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Gloucester Township Council will vote on a proposed medical marijuana dispensary and the Blackwood West Redevelopment Plan overhaul when it meets Monday night.

Gloucester Township Council meets 7:30 p.m. Monday night at the municipal building, 1261 Chews Landing Road.

The first proposal would permit an alternative treatment center to provide a medical marijuana dispensary as a permitted use in the Highway Commercial Zone.

This is different from the discussions Gloucester Township had earlier this year about recreational marijuana, as this proposal spells out that medicinal marijuana would be the permitted use in this situation.

There will also be a public hearing and final vote on the proposal to repeal and adopt the Blackwood West Redevelopment Plan.

Township Council will also introduce plans to amend the administrative code and the code overseeing personnel policy and procedures. The public hearing and final votes on those plans will take place at the Dec. 29 meeting, which was rescheduled from Dec. 27.

There will be a resolution to make budget transfers due to expected deficiencies in some budget appropriations for the rest of the year. The specific transfers weren’t listed in the agenda packet posted on the township’s website Friday morning.

There are also 11 items on the consent agenda and a bid report on 2021-22 snow removal.
