Multi-Year Bridge Replacement In Gloucester Twp. Underway: What To Know

While major traffic jams aren't expected, drivers should get acquainted with the new traffic patterns.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — The multi-year reconstruction of the Somerdale Road Bridge is getting underway this week.

Although officials don't anticipate major traffic issues, local residents should give themselves ample time as they adjust to new traffic patterns and potential delays.

The project, scheduled to begin this week, is expected to take two years.

Construction will include three stages, according to the Camden County government, which manages the bridge. During Stages 1 and 3, crews will keep at least one lane open in each direction.

During Stage 2, two lanes will be open from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, with full detours in place at night.
