New Courses Coming To Gloucester Township Schools In 2022-23

The new courses are part of the Gloucester Township School District budget for the 2022-23 school year, the district said.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Students from kindergarten through fifth grade in the Gloucester Township School District will be taught new math courses in the 2022-23 academic year, the district said.

New social studies courses for sixth- through eighth-grade students will also come, according to the district.

The new courses were just a few components of the Gloucester Township School District's 2022-23 budget, which was discussed on April 25, the district said.

The school district's total budget for 2022-23 will be $143,289,472, which is $14,906,462 more than the year before, the district said.

Annual property taxes will increase about $30 a year on a house assessed at $188,000, the district added.

The new budget will allocate funding to support the district's after-school and summer programs, install new bleachers at C.W. Lewis Middle School, upgrade security and surveillance systems within the district and replace the roofs on several district buildings, according to the district.

The spending plan will maintain all existing programs and services for students in kindergarten through eighth grade, will keep SMART boards in classrooms and district-provided laptops with teachers and will allow students to continue using Chromebooks, according to the district.
