Pedestrian Injured In South Jersey Hit-And-Run, Police Seek Witnesses
An evening hit-and-run crash in South Jersey hospitalized a pedestrian Wednesday night, authorities said.
WASHINGTON, NJ — An evening hit-and-run crash in Washington Township on County Highway 555 sent a pedestrian to the hospital Wednesday night, authorities said.
Washington Township police responded to a report of a semi-conscious woman lying on the side of the roadway at around 9:40 p.m. in the area of County Highway 555 (Tuckahoe Road) and Summit Avenue, police said.
An investigation later determined that the woman had been struck by a 2014 Hyundai Sonata traveling westbound on Tuckahoe Road that left the scene and later reported the crash.

The pedestrian sustained a “serious” injury and was transported to Jefferson Hospital, police said.
Tuckahoe Road’s westbound lane was closed for about an hour after the crash, police said. The crash remains under investigation.
