Powerful Fire Guts Gloucester Twp. House, Displaces Residents
None of the residents were home during the fire.
GLENDORA, NJ — A fire heavily consumed a Gloucester Township home and displaced the residents over Labor Day weekend, officials said.
The fire was reported just after midnight Sunday on 420 Price Ave. in the township's Glendora section. First responders found heavy smoke and fire consuming the house.
None of the residents were home at the time, and no injuries were reported, police said.

Firefighters from multiple departments rushed to the scene, opening up the walls and ceilings to contain it, according to the Chews Landing Fire Department.
Crews contained the fire in about 30 minutes, preventing it from spreading to other homes. Photos shared by the Runnemede Fire Department show the house engulfed in roaring flames and heavy damage in the aftermath.

Police notified the residents about the fire.
The cause is under investigation by Gloucester Township police and the Glendora and Camden County fire marshals.
Gloucester Township police reminded residents to take precautions in case of a fire.
"Check your fire alert and suppression systems to ensure that they are operational," the department said in a statement. "Smoke alarms are a key part of any fire escape plan. When there is smoke, there is fire which can spread quickly. Working smoke alarms give you early warning, so you can get outside quickly."
