'Steady Flow' Of COVID-19 Cases In Camden County This Week
The delta variant accounted for more than 99 percent of COVID-19 cases in New Jersey over a four-week period.
CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ — Camden County and New Jersey have seen an uptick in coronavirus cases. But what does that mean for the county?
As of Friday, there have been 61,499 coronavirus cases and 1,345 coronavirus-related deaths in Camden County since the pandemic began in March 2020.
On Friday, there were 134 new cases identified, one day after 143 new cases were identified on Thursday. Of these cases, 93 were among patients younger than 18 years old.

“We’ve seen a steady flow of cases this week,” Camden County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. said. “The importance of getting vaccinated cannot be undermined. It’s the best way to protect ourselves and others from getting seriously ill, ending up in the hospital or dying. You can make an appointment to get vaccinated or to receive your booster shot if you’re eligible at the Camden County Health Hub by visiting www.CamdenCountyVaccine.com.”
Officials continue to monitor the delta variant, which accounted for more than 99 percent of coronavirus cases in New Jersey over the last four-weeks, according to data provided by the state department of health.

Camden County has "moderate" COVID activity, according to New Jersey's latest weekly report. The determination is based on metrics such as case rate, positivity rate and prevalence of COVID-like illnesses.
As of Friday, 424,805 Camden County residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 318,378 are fully vaccinated and 67,910 have received a third dose. The Camden County Health Department is continuing to closely track new cases of COVID-19 and information regarding the prevalence of the Delta variant. New cases are often reassigned to other municipalities over the course of an investigation.
