Timber Creek Cheerleaders Go for State Crown

The cheerleading squad took down perennial Olympic Conference champ Washington Township two weeks ago.

Timber Creek's cheerleaders will compete Sunday in the state cheerleading championships in Trenton.

The Chargers, led by coach Michelle Costello, dethroned Washington Township as Olympic Conference grand champion during the conference cheerleading tournament held at Washington Township on Feb. 20. Washington Township had won the competition for 12 consecutive years.

Timber Creek will be among more than a dozen "large varsity" programs from across the state to participate in Sunday's competition. The team will also compete in the "Battle at the Capitol" national championship March 19-20 in Washington D.C.
