A widespread search is underway after a fatal hit-and-run crash near a New Jersey highway.

NEW JERSEY – A widespread search is underway after a fatal hit-and-run crash took place Wednesday night near a New Jersey highway and involved a pedestrian.
An adult man was walking on Williamstown Road at 10:34 p.m. and crossing the Atlantic City Expressway bridge when he was struck by an unknown vehicle, police said.
The vehicle that struck the pedestrian fled the scene towards Monroe Township, police said.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he died, police said.
