Apartment Catches Fire, One Arrested This Weekend In Hackettstown

A minor fire damaged an apartment building, and a Pennsylvania man was arrested on three warrants this weekend in Hackettstown.

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — In case you missed it, here's a look at Hackettstown's police and fire activity over the weekend.

According to a Monday press release from the town's police department, a minor structure fire and one arrest occurred between Friday and Sunday. The fire occurred Friday, Jan. 24.

Hackettstown police, fire and rescue squad were called to an apartment building at 205 Main Street for a structure fire.

When first responders arrived, smoke was visible from a second-floor apartment, the release stated. An investigation found the apartment had only minor damage.

The cause of the fire was found to be undetermined and not suspicious, officials said. No one was injured.

On Saturday, Jan. 25, a 36-year-old Blakeslee, Pennsylvania, man was arrested on three warrants.

The man, Francisco Sanchez, was arrested on a $1,000 warrant out of Mount Arlington municipal court criminal, a $2,500 Bridgewater Township municipal court traffic warrant and a $2,500.00 Roxbury Township municipal court traffic warrant, the release stated.

Sanchez posted bail on the Roxbury warrant and was released, police said.
