Construction in Progress on Bergen Tool Site
Construction on new CVS store could begin in the fall.
Construction activities seemed to be in full swing this week at the former Bergen Tool site in Hackettstown.
The site could become home to a new CVS store, according to NJ.com, as the town passed an ordinance amending the town code to allow the Bergen Tool site to be leveled and developed.
Hackettstown Engineer Paul Sterbenz told NJ.com earlier this month that the developer of a CVS store in that location has plans to begin construction in the fall. Several residents have spoken out in the past against the plan, including one who said the Bergen Tool building should be preserved for historic purposes.
