Employee Stole $14K From Hackettstown Lowe's: Police
Police say the employee made fake returns to get the money.

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — A Hackettstown Lowe's employee stole over $14,000 by making fraudulent returns at the store, Hackettstown police said.
Caroline Damus, 31, of Hackettstown, is charged with third degree theft unlawful taking for the alleged theft. Police say that between Aug. 2017 and March 2018, Damus made "numerous" false returns at the Route 182 store. After she made the returns, she allegedly used the money to buy gift cards at Lowe's.
She was arrested on Aug. 24, 2018, and released pending an upcoming court date.
