Father, Son Arrested During Mother's Day Dispute In Hackettstown
Police arrested both father and son during a large dispute just after midnight, police said.
HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — A father and son pair were arrested during an early-morning Mother's Day dispute in Hackettstown last weekend, police said.
Ronald Mulford III, 24, of Hackettstown, and Ronald Mulford, 47, of Hackettstown were both arrested around midnight on Mother's Day morning, police said. Police were called to Valentine Street just before midnight about a dispute.
Police first spoke to the elder Mulford outside of a home, and during that conversation, "numerous individuals" came out of the home and began yelling, police said.

The younger Mulford charged at an officer, pushing and grabbing the officer's outer vest and uniform, police said. Mulford III was arrested and handcuffed.
While his son was being handcuffed, the older Mulford refused to listen to police officer's instructions, and was also arrested, police said. During the arrest, the older Mulford spit on an officer's leg, police said.

The younger Mulford was charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct and failure to allow fingerprinting. The older Mulford was charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer (throwing bodily fluid), obstruction, disorderly conduct and failure to allow fingerprinting.
Both were taken to the Warren County Correctional Facility.
