Ghoulishly-Good Fun For All Happening In Hackettstown On Oct. 30

A parade, costume contest, candy and prize giveaways, plus trick-or-treating, are part of the downtown fun.

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — A costume parade and trick-or-treating with downtown businesses are part of the frighteningly-fun happening ahead in Hackettstown on Saturday, Oct. 30.

That’s the day that Hackettstown’s 8th Annual Downtown event is planned, the fun first kicking off at 3 p.m. with a Halloween parade.

Those who would like to dress up or be a parade need to line up at Centenary University on West Moore Street between First and Second Avenues that day at 2:30 p.m. The parade starts at 3 p.m., heading down West Moore Street to the Gazebo on Main and West Moore Streets.

The Gazebo is where little ghouls and goblins can grab Mars Wrigley candy being handed out.

After the parade, judges will check out the costumes, with prizes handed out for these categories:

  • Infant to 3 years old
  • 4 to 6 years old
  • 7 to 10 years old
  • Best Pet Costumes

Trick-or-treating is expected to happen until 5 p.m. with participating downtown businesses passing out treats.

Sponsors for this yearly downtown event includes: Mars Wrigley, Centenary University, Hackettstown Business Improvement District (BID), Hackettstown Police Department and Atlantic Health’s Hackettstown Medical Center.
