Hackettstown Community Day Extended for More Entertainment This Year

Annual event promotes public awareness of local non-profit agencies and their services.

The community is already gearing up for an expanded Hackettstown Community Day this October in celebration of the event's seventh year.

Hackettstown Community Day is held each year to help promote public awareness of local non-profit agencies and the services they provide. The day-long event is sponsored by the Hackettstown Police Department, Lowe's of Hackettstown and Mars Chocolate North America. This year's event will be held on Oct. 5 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Lowe's parking lot on Mountain Avenue.

"Last year’s event was a huge success with approximately 5,500 people attending," Hackettstown Police Sgt. Darren Tynan said in a release announcing the event. "The extended hour is to allow for more entertainment. We are hoping to make this year’s event even larger with non-profit organizations, local businesses, groups, displays, food and free giveaways."
