Hackettstown PD Encourage Residents To Thank Crossing Guards

Residents can also nominate their favorite crossing guard to be considered for America's Favorite by Safekids.org.

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J.– Hackettstown police are encouraging residents to thank the town's 10 crossing guards and three substitutes this month.

"During this month of thankfulness, the Hackettstown Police Department, Safe Kids and... FedEx [are] showing our appreciation for crossing guards," Sgt. Darren Tynan said. "They protect our kids on their way to and from school. They encourage safe behaviors. And they show up rain or shine.

"We aim to raise awareness about the tremendous contribution that crossing guards make to protecting kids on the move and to recognize their hard work through a campaign devoted to saying thank you."
