'Beards In Blue' Fundraiser With Hackettstown Police Benefits Cancer Center
For their "no-shave November" Hackettstown Police officers plan to fundraise for the cancer center at Hackettstown Medical Center.

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — The Joan Knechel Cancer Center at Hackettstown Medical Center is expected to receive support from the Hackettstown Police Department, as part of the department’s “Beards In Blue” initiative.
During the month of November, participating Hackettstown Police officers plan to “put down their razors” said Sgt. Darren Tynan, a spokesperson for the department, to raise funds for the cancer center.
“Our anti-shave campaign is meant to raise cancer awareness and encourage people to live healthy and get their regular medical checkups to detect issues that could lead to cancer,” said Tynan in a news release on Wednesday.
