I-80 To Close This Week For Retaining Wall Survey: DOT

WARREN COUNTY - I-80 eastbound and westbound through the Delaware Water Gap are set to close this week as officials survey the area for an upcoming retaining wall project, officials said.
The right lane on I-80 westbound is set to close Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 12 noon just before the S-curve near milepost 1.7 through milepost 0.8, the New Jersey Department of Transportation said. One lane will remain open.
The right lane on I-80 eastbound will close on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. just before the S-curve near milepost 0.8 through milepost 1.7, the DOT said. One lane will remain open.

“This work may continue on Thursday, August 11 and Friday, August 12 if necessary,” the authority added.
Motorists are advised to slow down and use caution when driving through the work zone, the DOT said.

According to NJ.com, the crumbling 70-year-old retaining wall sandwiched between Knowlton and Hardwick townships has prompted a $56 million emergency repair plan backed by the DOT.
The timing of the project is subject to change due to weather and other factors, DOT said.
