Mars Celebrates 'History of Chocolate' With American Heritage Collection

Hackettstown-based chocolate manufacturer debuts new line for cooking... or just eating.

Hackettstown-based Mars Chocolate is celebrating its signature product by releasing a new line of products that honor the history of chocolate.

The American Heritage Chocolate line was announced at the Hackettstown facility on Friday and debuted at the San Diego Maritime Museum last weekend during the "A Celebration of Chocolate on the Bay" event.

Chocolate included in the collection will come in four forms: individually-wrapped chocolate sticks; bite-sized chocolates; chocolate blocks sized for shaving, baking or grating; and finely-grated chocolate ideal for drinking or baking. All American Heritage chocolate also comes in commemorative packaging.

"Chocolate has been woven through the fabric of American culture for centuries and American Heritage Chocolate allows chocolate lovers and history buffs alike to enjoy chocolate as our founding fathers would have—as a drink,” Rodney Snyder, chocolate history research director of Mars Chocolate North America, said.
