The Centenary College Athletic Department announced the hiring of Meghan Spitzer as the new women's lacrosse assistant coach this weekend.

“I am very excited and thankful for the opportunity to coach women's lacrosse at the collegiate level, especially here in North Jersey
where the sport is so strong. I am looking forward to meeting and mentoring student-athletes who are planning to participate in our program. I am also looking forward to this season, and am eager to bring my knowledge and love of the game to the table” Spitzer said.

Spitzer joins the Cyclones after serving as an assistant girl's lacrosse coach at Morris Hills High School this past season as well as part-time coaching experience at Caldwell since April 2011. Along with her experience at both Caldwell and Morris Hills, Spitzer served as a girl's lacrosse coach for Impact Lacrosse since July 2010.

A graduate of Montclair State University in 2011, Spitzer served as a four-year starter for the Red Hawks where she was named to Skyline Conference Second Team All-Conference honors after leading the team in assists. With her time at Montclair State, Spitzer helped lead the Red Hawks to a pair of Skyline Conference Championships where she had the opportunity to compete for two seasons in the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Tournament.

Spitzer obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts with a concentration in school and community settings in December 2011 and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Education to obtain her teaching certificate.
